I think the hoodie and shoes are alright, but I think there is alot more Mexican art and history we can praise and show on our clothing that would be a little more satisfying than a blanket. Look at our ancient cultures, the Mayans and the Aztecs. Some indio art would be fresh don’t ya’ll think!? I mean it’s a start and I’m not really one to complain , but anyway being proud of who you are should come from within not from a t-shirt anyway. I like some of Avirex’s t-shirts with the Native American headdresses and all, some of the bigger labels should come out with a clothing line promoting what already exists- the pride we hold for our cultures.

LRG been came out with an Aztec design a year ago N1Na. They had some raw Tenochtitlan jeans, a jacket and t shirts I think the jacket is still on Herbanstlyz.com But this Mexican Rug thing is cool and is bangin with the jeans and the shirt. The shoes would complete it if you know how to color cordinate. I love LRG thats all i wear.
This Mexican Blanket Hoodie has been done many times before by “REAL” lesser known streetwear labels (ie Swagger)… People claim BAPE watches the streetwear market and duplicates whatever is HOT, well LRG does the exact same.
And to think that LRG Tool Ben Baller has the audacity to say that smaller independent streetwear labels are wack (Vapors Magazine 37), yet still the label he’s reppin’ (LRG) has been swagger jackin’ ideas/designs from these smaller lesser known labels for the longest time.
LRG is an authentic clothing line, War. I’ve kept my clothing wear updated and those overpriced underground streetwear labels hardly have any unique gear. Its plain colored and the themes are wack.. i mean can’t a clothing line have something else on their shirts other than money? LRG actualy got some meaningful wear, and even tho its goin mainstream now, its will stay authentic. “underground inventive, overground effective”

I would concur that of all the commercial brands (ie G-Unit, Phat Farm et al) LRG is the best, but their designs of late have been uninspiring (eg Dead Serious Hoodie).
Dollar signs on Tees? Plain Colors? I check slamxype, highsnobiety, and hypebeast regularly, and I don’t see such things…
The premium people have to pay for goods from smaller streetwear labels is due to the fact that most, if not all, are made in the USA (except Alife, MOB, and Supreme… Canadian made) by clothing manufacturers that have a higher overhead than (slave labor) factories in Bangladesh, Malaysia, China, India etc. so it’s obvious this cost is passed to you the consumer.
In the end I guess it’s all up to the consumer… you can either look like a “Street Clone” and support some kid named Chowdury’s nickel a day income, in Bangladesh. Or you can buy a little “Exclusivety” and support homegrown Design, and manufacturing.
