We got chills when we heard this new track called “Classic” featuring Nas, Rakim, KRS-One and Kanye West, with DJ Premier on the boards.

Just knowing these MCs are still able to create magic when necessary is heartening for all hip-hop fans.

Perhaps Kanye should have just been happy with his production credit, because his verse doesn’t quite fit in with the scheme of the track.

has anything Kanye done rate as high as any of these three classics: Criminal Minded, Illmatic, Paid in Full? I give Kanye credit for being a good producer and a decent rapper, but let’s see him spit a verse that becomes part of the vernacular that’s not laced with curses before he tries to add to his shine by affiliation

  • I haven’t heard the song, I’m just saying this in general, you get more than 3 or 4 rappers “collaborating” on a song and one of them is gonna ruin it. never fails

I liked the song “Classic”. when i first heard it, it was a cool joint. Kanye’s verse is aight w/ me. However, i think a verse of a true MC (for instance, Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Pharaoh Monch, Saigon, and others) will fit the description…..in my opinion.
