I think that you can tell that a name brand is goin out style when everyone stops wearing it such as bapesta, gino green and some others. Alos when people stop rockin it proper like not matchin and looking extremely bummy.But other name brands such as rocawear, phat farm, Live Mechanics, LRG…but honestly i think the next upcoming name brand is Parish becuase it is very creative and a person like me would wear it

I think urban fashion in the classical sense is dead. I remember back in the 90s when I was in high school and junior high, urban fashion was the shit. Brands like Phat Farm, Maurice Malone, Karl Kani and Mecca created clothes that were super fresh and original. Avirex leather jackets were the most stylish piece of clothing you could own. Nowadays, urban fashion is so bastardized. Anyone can thow on a fitted hat and some air jordans or air forces. Back in the day, not everyone could do it; you actually had to have style back then. Where I live in Maryland most people don’t even wear urban fashion brands anymore, they wear bullshit like Aeropostale. Thats why I like underground streetwear brands like 10 Deep and the Hundreds because these brands take it back to an era when you really had to hunt to find exclusive hot shit.

It seems as if now a days everyone starting a clothing company is aiming for premium with ridiculous boutique prices. A majority of the products are remanufactured in China with cheap material and details. You are basically paying to represent a brand name…
Will this last very long? Probably not. What would last? Well, one of two things. Quality clothes that are actually worth dropping a dime for or a great design team that is keeping up to date with the hottest colors, style and designs. When you try to get $260 for a pair of jeans with no shape that was made in a Chinese factory…I wish you the best of luck.

I love the enyce line up this season and last season. Enyce may be hanging on but, their colors this season black and aqua works! theres something new. I’ve been rockin akdemiks and LrG religiously but, never turn my back on a hot skullz T-shirt. I thought artful dodger was going to have a sick fall line up when I bought 3 tee’s from them before this season but, man they really dropped the ball. Placements of design on their part does not look like it works on anyone’s body. As for the celebrity clothing lines they’ve been staying basic, haven’t seen sean john, rocawear, coming out of their shell with elaborate designs…. as if their trying to stick with what works. Akdemiks been hot and still is hot Im just not going to rock the colors they have out now just wont fit my persona. LRG?! isn’t jonas bevacqua done with LRG?! If it’s made anywhere overseas in places like China, Vietnam, or Pakistan, the labor is cheap, the fabric is cheap, the screen printing is cheap and you are a fool for paying over $100 for it. Besides, these factories have no labor laws, no standards for pollution, so in a sense, you are supporting the overall demise of civilization and the earth. But WTF, a man’s gotta look good right? I think a brand dies out when they are no longer original and their look gets boring. People like to keep things fresh and unique. If they keep doing the same stuff over and over, people will get tired of it quick.

Back in the day, I see a lot of brands like FUBU (mainly), Ecko, Dada, Karl Kani, Mecca, Akademiks, Rocawear, Stussy, Girbaud, Avirex, Phat Farm, RP55, Sean John, Wu-Wear, and so forth. they’re all hot at the same time, so people purchase them. However, some of the brands that i mentioned know just went MIA while others, like RocaWear, Sean John, and Phat Farm (although it kinda died down, not out) had staying power for customers who kept their loyalty to them for they’re fans of their music.
Besides, sum rappers just want to start clothing lines just for the hell of it like for instance, Bow wow and Outkast. Bow wow did Shago (i do have 3 shirts at home) and Outkast did Outkast Clothing. They’re hot like butter back then but now, they just ceased to exist. Fubu was blazin’ hot from its intro….. until the mid-2000 where they kinda declined rapidly (here in the US) although they still do well in the global scale. heard sum internet rumors that Fubu might make a comeback here in the US, not so sure why and when.
