Diddy to release Unforgivable for Women
His entertainment company may be Bad Boy Worldwide, but now Sean “Diddy” Combs is changing his focus to women.
His new fragrance, Unforgivable for Women, hits stores in August.
Its first year sales are projected to be somewhere around the US$45 million mark.
Diddy’s first fragrance, Unforgivable for Men, has enjoyed sales of over US$150 million globally since it was launched in department stores in February 2005.
It has ranked in the top three scents in the US, the UK, New Zealand and Australia since its launch.
“I learned to be myself [with the first fragrance] and not apologize, and there’s a void in the marketplace for something that evokes emotion through scent,” Diddy tells industry publication Women’s Wear Daily.
“This isn’t a celebrity brand. I gotta be myself. I can’t all of a sudden have the number one fragrance and start being like [Giorgio] Armani or Ralph [Lauren], start trying to fit in. If anything, I’m trying to stand out even more.”
