An interview with Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier
DrJays.com’s Content Manager, Simone “Boss Lady” Kapsalides, recently caught up with fashion designer Christian Audigier at the opening of the new Ed Hardy/SMET store in New York’s SoHo district.Audigier has been a pioneer of street fashion for many years.
He instigated the trucker hat craze when he was head designer at Von Dutch a few years back, and came up with the idea of putting Los Angeles tattoo artist Don Ed Hardy’s intricate designs on t-shirts.
With the tees an instant success, he then turned the brand into the Ed Hardy collection, complete with jeans, shoes, etc.
Audigier is originally from France and his accent is tres thick, so you may need to listen carefully to his replies!
