According to EURWeb, Beyoncé is being considered for the lead role in the feature film adaptation of Aida.

Aida tells the story of a Nubian princess who is captured by an Egyptian captain named Radames. After falling for her, he saves her from a life of hard labor by placing her as a handmaiden to the Egyptian princess Amneris, his future bride.

The role of Aida has been played on Broadway by R&B divas including Toni Braxton, Michelle Williams (of Destiny’s Child) and Heather Headley.

If she scores the role, Aida will be Beyoncé’s follow-up to her breakout role as Deena Jones in Dreamgirls, another musical film.

Please for the love of all that is pure and holy in musical theatre… Someone must stop this injustice!!! BEYONCE SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAR IN… COSTAR IN… OR EVEN WATCH, LISTEN TO, OR COME WITH IN 50 MILES OF ANY FILM PRODUCTION OF AIDA. Please… do this right… don’t let her come near it!

I love her as an artist but her acting skills arent quite there yet, she’s not really that bad at acting but she could use a little more work.
