Yes yes y’all – October is indeed the month to celebrate the living history of hip-hop, from VH1′s Hip Hop Honors to BET’s Hip Hop Awards and everything in between.

We’re excited to have Puma’s Yo! MTV Raps Pack now available on the site.

The sneaker designs are inspired by some of the most influencial and iconic hip-hop artists of our time: MC Shan, Doug E. Fresh and Big Daddy Kane.

MC Shan‘s shoe features a silhouette of the Queensbridge housing project where him and other rap greats, like Nas, grew up:

Known as the “Human Beatbox”, Harlem artist Doug E. Fresh‘s shoe features bubble screen print on leather canvas:

Arguably one of the greatest to ever pick up a mic, Big Daddy Kane laid the blueprint for rappers who followed him, especially fellow Brooklynites Notorious B.I.G and Jay-Z. His shoe pays tribute to his renowned flashiness:

The recent award ceremonies show the hip-hop community is gradually being forced into positive action when it comes to the survival of the music and culture.

The question is, how many fans out there are willing to do the same?
