I dont know why hip hop embraces scarface in the first place. Italians hated ****z. Have you seen carlitos way. Italians were about italians, brotherhood, family. All ****z did for ‘em was shine their shoes. I never understood why hip hop embraced the movie. But to answer the question. no i dont think it’ll have as big an impact.

As for American Gangster being the next Scarface, I’m yet to see it, so I can’t give an educated opinion, but I do find it hard to imagine.

Am I the only one not in love with Scarface. I love gangsters but dang I ain’t caught up in them. Everyone loves Scarface because it’s about gangsters. But Scarface was white, we got a movie made about a real black gangster and we as a society can’t even support it. Ain’t no one is hardly living Scarface life, Scarface is a whole bunch of exaggeration. I love the finer things too. But Frank Lucas was a real gangster because he hustled but he knew how to sit back and count his money unlike Tony Montana. Respect Frank Lucas and stop saying the movie could have been better. Have you made more money them him, if not give the man his props and go make so money for yourself.

I don’t think its gonna have the same effect because its been done before. Scarface was one of the first movies of its kind…but now gangsta movies are a lot more common. i just don’t think that american gangster will be as big of a classic..but that does not mean that it isn’t a great movie.
