Garbege launch exciting new campaign
Travis McCoy (Gym Class Heroes) for garbege
Jonathon Mannion for garbege
In conjunction with the release of their 2007 holiday collection “Greatest Hits”, luxury streetwear designers garbege will be executing an advertising campaign featuring celebrities and influencers from across multiple art forms.
The ad campaign – Street, Smart, Art – will hit media late December, just as the holiday collection begins to hit store shelves.
The campaign features rising leaders from a variety of artistic channels. Each ad highlights a trendsetting celeb in their natural work environments while wearing a piece from the garbege collection.
These luminaries include Travis McCoy, frontman for 2007 MTV VMA’s Best New Artist Gym Class Heroes, celebrity photographer and video director Jonathan Mannion and more.
Currently viewed as an ad campaign, these creative units will be part of an extensive collection of celebrity photos, their art, and interviews all compiled in a book titled Street, Smart, Art, due to be published in the near future.
“I felt that a campaign like this was needed,” says garbege co-founder Malcolm Phipps. It connects the brand with all walks of life in terms of looking at what these dope individuals contributed to their area of expertise, which is the epitome of STREET, SMART, ART.
“I want people to see this campaign and say to themselves ‘I can be that person to change the world by chasing and attaining my dreams in efforts to change my reality.’”
Check back for garbege’s new holiday collection, available on Street Swag in coming weeks.

this is very interesting
I’m actually looking forward to this ad campaign. I really think Travis is a genius. Gym Class Heroes are a current favorite; just saw them on tour and caught a brief clip of them on the MTVu Woodies. http://www.mtvu.com/video/?id=1574356
