Remember when Kimora Lee Simmons bared her (some say heavily airbrushed) body for the first Baby Phat sneaker?
She’s done it again, but this time it’s for a worthier cause.
Wearing only angel wings and holding her dog, Zoe, Simmons stars in a new ad for animal rights group PETA.
The ad campaign coincides with Unchain A Dog Month, PETA’s yearly promotion encouraging dog owners to make dogs more a part of their family activities.
“You cannot just chain up an animal,” Simmons says. “The chains are heavy, it’s cruel. Dogs need to run and play.”
Kimora’s campaign comes after ex-husband Russell Simmons‘ November 2007 public service announcement, focusing on the cruelty of dogfighting. The commercial was made after NFL player Michael Vick was convicted of the crime.

Kimora alright and all but does she have to be on all of her advertisements. I get tired of seeing pictures of her on everything she does. Not saying that it’s wrong cause she really is doing her thing, but damn. She really didnt have to be in the picture with the dog. Kimora, you can still give somebody else a chance and let it be known that that’s your sh*t.

Ok I realize that Baby Phat only uses faux fur… but doesn’t Kimora Lee Simmons wear fur a lot? Isn’t that going directly against the principles of the PETA organization? I’m kind of sick of seeing celebrities contradict themselves. I realize that this particular ad is speaking out against animal cruelty, and Kimora is a very good pet owner. At least from what I have seen, she treats her animals well. But fur is another form of animal cruelty. How could PETA make such a big mistake??

I think that as a celebrity it’s very easy to contradict yourself. Not every celebrity walks around thinking about PETA all the time especially while going shopping. Fashion to celebrity’s are more important than anything else and most of the time fur is frequently used in the fashion industry. Also, when it comes to special events such as walking the red carpet, don’t the celebrity’s assistant help in picking out the outfit? I love animals too and it’s sad to think that they get killed for fur but I figured if I can eat meat than I too can wear fur. What’s the difference? Especially if the animal is already dead!
