DRJAYS.COM FEARLESS PREDICTION:

The New York Giants will beat the New England Patriots 27-21 in Super Bowl XLII.

Why?

1. New York needs it:

When you look at the three major sports in the US – NBA, NFL and MLB (we’re not even getting into the debate about NASCAR or NHL) – it’s been slim pickings for the Big Apple of late. The Knicks last win was in 1973, the Jets in 1969, the Mets in 1986, the Giants in 1991 and the Yankees in 2000. By comparison, the Patriots won in 2002, 2004 and 2005 and the Red Sox in 2004 and 2007. Heck, if you include soccer – the world’s most popular sport – the New England Revolution have eliminated the New York Red Bulls the last two years in the playoffs.

2. History in the making:

No, no, no – not 19-0, but the Manning brothers winning back to back Bowls as QB. Very much in the tradition of Venus and Serena’s tennis run from 2000-2003, where they won nine out of 16 Grand Slam titles.

3. Eli needs it:

Not only will this mean he steps out of Peyton’s shadow, but also he silences all of the critics who bitterly complain the Giants should not have traded up for the #1 draft pick because they could have selected Phillip Rivers or Ben Roethslinger at#4.

4. Tom Brady doesn’t need it:

He’s good-looking, he already has three rings, had Bridget Moynahan, has Giselle, the list goes on. There’s just no need for him to be the first 19-0 QB.

5. Karma:

Belichick (Patriots coach) and his non-handshakes and “camera gate”, the Moss signing…well, Strahan held out, so maybe this one is a stretch.

Are we being provocative? Perhaps. Are we crazy? That’s for you to decide. Are we fans? Definitely.

This from our company CFO – he wants you all to know he did win the DrJays.com Fantasy Basketball Smackdown in its inaugural season, so he believes he has a little more credibility than many of you other pundits out there…

  • jbeezy says:

I got to say, out here in CA I’m pulling for the Giants!

  • kwaping says:

I hate the Pats more than anyone, but I’m sorry, the Giants are not going to win.

  • Chris J the Genius says:

I want the Giants to win and I’m hoping, but it doesn’t seem very likely to me. Overall, I just hope it’s a good game and comes down to the wire, not like past Super Bowls where the game has pretty much been decided in the first quarter, first half, third quarter…. Hell, I don’t even want it to be over at the beginning of the fourth! I want a good game so I can have some people over at the dorm and we can have a good time. These guys better put me on the edge of my seat. If I wind up remembering more about the commercials (or wardrobe malfunctions) than the actual game, I’ll be personally pissed. I HOPE THE GIANTS PULL IT OFF, THOUGH!

  • Jordan says:

I like football. It is fun. I also like the Giants. So I hope they will win.

  • good dude says:

Hahahahahahahaha. Patriots are going to win badly. It not even fair!

  • Will973 says:

  • cope says:

    Good dude

    your fckin retarded

  • Sean says:

lmfao whoever made this topic knows nothing about football and the reasons dont even make sense,
    1. New York is New York already the greatest city ever (even though im from Totonto) does not need anything more
    2. This would be an amazing record to break because of all the hype surrounding it, and it will always be a patriots legacy, and will make them and even greater dyansty than they already are
    3. You are telling me that the superbowl champ should not earn the title but given it out of pity?
    4. You would want a person who is already a legend to be the first with a 19-0 record, otherwise some new kid might get it. How would it look if somebody like Vince Young won it, (i know he nvr will tho lol)
    5. Alright lol that kinda makes sense, Bilichick’s shadyness will kinda tarnish the record…
THe best time for somebody to go 19-0 woulda been the saints last season, that would make every top best damn 50 sports moments forever lol (from best damn sportshow, watch it)

Rooting for one’s team is always expected. Then there’s that gut feeling of doom we all try to shove out of our thoughts. It’s called REALITY. Patriots to BEAT GIANTS like a spoiled child. Bardy has 0 to possibly 1 pick. Manning to suffer 2 picks as he runs from Vrabel, Harrison like a cheap pair of pantyhose. 31-21. Game over. Lights out. 19-0 achieved.
