Akon and Nick Cannon star in VH1′s Rags To Riches

New VH1 series Rags To Riches sounds like what MTV’s Cribs should have been – not only a look at the dizzying success of an artist, but also the struggles they went through to actually get there.

The show kicks off with Akon, who takes viewers for the first time through the streets of Newark, New Jersey to expose his troublesome past and to provide a glimpse of where it all started.

Nick Cannon features in the next episode, which exposes his personal account of early struggles and humble beginnings. Nick takes viewers on an exclusive tour through the streets of South East San Diego, where he grew up, and introduces them to the people who helped him realize his stardom.

Each episode culminates with the ultimate give-back, as Akon and Nick reward a well-deserved member of their own community.

Rags To Riches: Akon and Rags To Riches: Nick Cannon is produced and directed by Academy Award nominee Lauren Lazin, whose first feature film Tupac: Resurrection was nominated for a 2005 Academy Award.

The show premieres Monday, February 4, starting with Akon’s episode at 10:00 PM EST followed by Nick Cannon’s at 10:30pm.

I love Nick Cannon, he’s so adorable! This sounds like it’s gonna be a great show! I loved the show Wilding out, it was funny! I think that it’s kind of cool to give back to your community and if that’s what the show is really about then I’ll stay tuned in!

I think it’s a great idea. This will show that it’s not all glitz and glam with famous celebrities

Man Akon is a real dude, he gives back for everything he gets, I saw the show last night after I got off work and I respect him, I didnt know he was on some new jersey drive shit before he got knocked, but he did his time and smartened up by getting out and not doing the same dumb shit. And he gave a young girl 20 stacks for her schooling, Not bad for a Konvict.

  • I must say, I can not agree with you in 100%, but that’s just my opinion, which could be very wrong.
p.s. You have a very good template . Where have you got it from?
