Update: 50 Cent’s G-Unit Clothing shuts down
50 Cent
According to inside sources, G-Unit Clothing is shutting down, with its last business day this Friday.
The brand was a joint venture with 50 Cent, who entered into a (what else?) 50/50 partnership with Ecko.
Senior marketing department staff were recently let go, as was the brand’s design team.
UPDATE: Allhiphop.com reports a “source” within 50′s camp has said, “They aren’t shutting down. They may be leaving their partner, but the G-Unit brand is a base business of $75 million annually.”
UPDATE II: The aforementioned “source” is allegedly from 50′s management company, Violator (if they are the source, they’re naturally serving the best interests of their client).
As reported, the current operations of G-Unit Clothing are shutting down this Friday.
G-Unit Clothing has been a strong selling brand on DrJays.com since its debut, and we anticipate 50′s next moves with the brand.
