Bill Cosby

He’s conquered the worlds of comedy, television, film and philanthropy – now Bill Cosby is putting hip-hop in the mix.

A longtime critic of rap music, Cosby has announced he’ll be releasing a hip-hop album, Cosby Narratives Vol. 1: State of Emergency.

According to XXL Magazine, the project will not feature raps by the 71 year-old Cosby, but will integrate positive messages drawn from his previous books, stories and song lyrics.

Cosby has been vocal about what he perceives as hip-hop’s negative content and the influence it has on young Blacks in America. He insists he didn’t want to integrate rap into his sound because rapping is “profane for no reason.”

He tells the Associated Press, “I do not rap on any of these things. I wouldn’t know how to fix my mouth to say some of the words.”

Maybe Cosby will kick off another style trend, as he did back in the 80′s when in The Cosby Show he made sweaters similar to COOGI‘s signature sweaters popular for the first time.

Ok sorry I can’t do this anymore, I’m dyin laughin. Just felt like doing that. But I don’t think anyone is going to cop it unless he gets some major people to do it. People didn’t feel much like hearing his message when he was condeming people for spending out of their means, being typical etc. It was true but damn lol

  • Drew says:

I mean i love the man any erything.. but leave the rap for the people that can actually do it.. hes a legend but stay outa the rap game

  • Ms Keedy says:

  • Drew, nobody said he was rapping on the album… WTF??

he will be gettin mc’s and producers to do the album. in other words, what you’ll be hearing is a selection of stuff that he picked out.

  • Kill Em All says:

this one is for Drew who didnt take the time to read the post. it clearly states that Cosby wont be rapping on it.

“According to XXL Magazine, the project will not feature raps by the 71 year-old Cosby, but will integrate positive messages drawn from his previous books, stories and song lyrics.”

“He tells the Associated Press, ‘I do not rap on any of these things. I wouldn’t know how to fix my mouth to say some of the words.’”
