Happy Cinco de Mayo!
This weekend will see lots of partying for Monday’s Cinco de Mayo (“5th of May” in English) celebration.
A day of Mexican heritage and pride, Cinco de Mayo commemorates an initial victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.

Cinco de Mayo aint a real Mexican holiday. Its another American made bull$h!t holiday that supposed to celebrate independence. The real mexican independence is in September.

Cino de Mayo is a real Mexican holiday!!! It’s the independence of
a STATE in Mexico. The STATE is called PUEBLA, they got there
independence form the French on that day. So get your Facts
Straight homies!
Okay look there’s going to be mexicans that consider it a real mexican holiday and those that don’t. But all shall drink… which is what i’m going to do peace. Hell I celebrate st patrick day cause everyone is happy and drunk. Get your alchi on.
true. it is one of the 2 independences that Mexico gained. i dont really celebrate Mexico that much since its all corruption. trust me, i live right next to the border and i’ve seen the crime spill over here. yea im Mexican American….and phuck it. i drank on cinco de mayo still.. SO MUTHAF_CKIN WHAT??!!
Cinco de mayo was a good day for the state of Puebla…but a year later the french came back and whooped that a$$ and ruled over Puebla for 5 years. WOW lets celebrate the fact that we held the FRENCH from taking over for a year…the FRENCH..you have got to be kidding me but go ahead and celebrate your americanized mexican holiday. is it cool that we are getting recognition as a race? YES but come on people know what you are celebrating. Yes it is a holiday in PUEBLA..so a state holiday not a NATIONAL MEXICAN HOLIDAY like the 16th of September. This day is virtually ignored in Mexico besides in Puebla and a couple other places.
Viva mexico!
