“Jr. Ray’s” (Dr. Jays) store in Grand Theft Auto 4
We’re kinda feeling ourselves today (*pause*) – we just noticed the Dr. Jays store is featured in the new Grand Theft Auto 4 game.
Because of copyright it’s funnily named “Jr. Ray’s”, and for all you gamers out there, the Dr. Jays store featured is the one on Steinway St in Queens, New York.
Just another shout out to the original urban outfitters!

Yeah true they could’ve done that or maybe they just saw it easier to rename it. Because getting in touch with the right people etc is a pain.
I think they changed the name not so much because of licensing issues, but because that whole world is “just a little bit off” from reality. To my knowledge (I haven’t played it), the city is *realistic* but not *real*, if you follow. There are landmarks and stuff, but it’s still a fantasy world and they want to keep it that way. Like how movies are “based on a true story.” To put the real name of Dr. Jay’s in there would go against that whole thing.
I forgot to add, either way that’s really great!!

You can’t buy clothes at Jr.Ray’s. You can’t really buy urban wear at all unlike San Andreas. They let you buy old school jackets at first, then some formal clothing like suits later on.
