Hot Rod

The self-confessed “one with all the swag” in G Unit, Hot Rod, is gearing up for a very (what else?) hot summer.

Building off the strength of his debut single, “I Like To F**k” (a current MySpace phenomenon), the Sacramento, CA native is set to release a new mixtape, feature prominently on the upcoming G Unit album (set for release June 24) and feature in DrJays.com’s Summer Sensations fashion campaign, due on the site in coming weeks.

Boss Lady caught up with Hot Rod recently on the rooftop of our New York office; check out the interview here on DrJays.com Live.

gggg g unot. g u nit is history…banks is next to exit.just been listening to cam’ron’s diss on 50 ‘curtisssss’…thats a hot joint

  • Good read but personally speaking im not a G-Unit fan…Im not really feeling anybody on the squad besides Banks…Ive been a Banks fan since Day 1 and could never understand why he was with G-Unit…Banks needs to step away to go his own route and start his own thing…Thats just my opinion though…50 has some hot songs, i cant deny that but just overall im not really a fan..

  • Thrillogy X says:

I agree with regg dat 50 cent and g unit are wack. GGGG G UNOT.

  • Rick Lexington says:

OK I’m just going get my 5 clowns/comments out there.

    1. aww crap not another myspace artist.

    2. The look on boss lady’s face when he said *I like to ***** was priceless.

    3. Well 50 got another person to help show his crib on the next mtv cribs.

    4. Out of the whole armada of people 50 got, he the only one really selling.

    5. I’d say g unot but game’s people aren’t doin well either.

  • jumpman27504 says:

This dude wack… I like 50 and Banks … but everybody else horrible… Hot Rod? Who the F**k are you? Look at the pic…. Hoodie to tight … Red Gloves …. corny

  • j.Are says:

the self-confessed “one with all the swag”??

Another way of saying that the dude is full of himself, and probably doesn’t have any good reason to be.

Hip hop gets so f*Ckin artificial sometimes, eh?

  • Rick Lexington says:

I see the look he was try to get with the whole “hot rod” thing. So I can understand the style of how is dressed. But yeah the interview, it did sound like he was full of himself, especially for a “myspace artist”. Then saying he’s to g unit what kanye is to the roc. Heard the music, hahaha good luck wit it.

But your right j. are hiphop is artificial at times. People never shut up with the talk, yet trip over themselves when they walk.

  • Brian Bruce says:

    who cares about this fool

  • Cool interview

That Karl Kani interview was bangin! I’m feeling that on a whole nother level b/c NOBODY gives him the credit he deserves

I wish i had the chance to interview 2pac today to speak on hip hop fashion b/c he was the other half of the start of it

Hot Rod is a cool dude. It’s ufnny b/c the way he talks and acts doesn’t seem like what he says he is .. aka ‘the pop star’… dude seems like he’s tring to portry a harder image… it’s definitely not fun looking in anyway and i think he could work on that .. get some image consulting for his direction

    Good interviews. Pretty informative

for my a whole write up on how hip hop fashion begin:
    http://www.sojones.com/hiphop-clothing.html

It’s pretty informative and if you want an interview with Keith Perrin and//or founders of FUBU …… OR Yomi Martin, founder of Apple Bottoms, I can link you

    No hard feelings!
