“Go back in the day/British Knights and gold chains…”
Missy Elliott featuring Jay-Z and Tweet, “Back In The Day”.

British Knights were first released in America in 1986.The shoes were recognizable by their chunky sole design, large tongue and inclusion of multiple “BK” logos on the heel, toe guard and upper.

British Knights were closely associated with hip-hop since their inception; check this 1988 commercial as an example:

To celebrate the return of British Knights to sneaker glory, we have four men’s pairs up for grabs.

To win a pair, answer the following question:

What did Crips allegedly say British Knight’s “BK” initials stood for back in the day?

Send an email with the subject line “British Knights Contest” and in the body of the email, include your answer, your contact details and shoe size, to: [email protected]

The FIRST four correct emails will win; names will be published in an updated version of this post.

UPDATE: The four winners of a pair of British Knights are:

Mia Hopson
Derrick Martin
Darrell Johnson
Ineedcheezcake (waiting on real name!)
