UK man shot at for wearing Obama t-shirt

A man has shockingly been shot at three times in London for wearing a Barack Obama t-shirt.
According to local newspaper the Daily Mail:
Dube Egwuatu was buying a mobile telephone top-up card in an off-licence when the gunman confronted him and glared at the top, which carries an image of the Democrat US presidential candidate underneath the legend ‘Believe’.
The man then launched into a tirade of racist slurs, shouting ‘I f***ing hate n*****s’ and urging 36-year-old Mr Egwuatu to leave the shop with him.
The man then left the shop but when Mr Egwuatu re-emerged, the attacker was waiting for him in broad daylight with a threatening-looking dog and holding a gun behind his back.
Realising what had sparked the increasingly violent assault, the terrified Mr Egwuatu zipped up his jacket to cover the image of Mr Obama and walked to his car.
But the shaven-headed man, who was white, followed Mr Egwuatu and after pulling open the passenger door pointed the gun at him.
After pleading with the man to leave him alone, the married former street warden put the keys in the ignition and turned the engine on.
The attacker then fired the gas-powered ball-bearing pistol three times, hitting the civil servant in the face, hand and shoulder.
Fearing for his life and bleeding heavily, Mr Egwuatu raced away in his car and found somewhere safe to call for help.
He was taken to hospital and later sent to have a piece of metal removed from his jaw.
Mr Egwuatu, a data analyst with Croydon Council, said: ‘The venom in his voice was frightening.
‘He was telling me that he was going to kill me.
‘I couldn’t believe it was happening – and just because I was wearing an Obama T-shirt. He was trying to make me walk somewhere quieter, saying: ‘I’ve got something for you,’ and ‘I’m going to kill you.’

I continuously deal with people that hate on me because of my race. Funny part is i’m mixed (black, hispanic, asian) I get it from all over. I don’t judge a race by what a particular person does. Really it doesn’t matter on which country it has it worst. It’s messed up that it’s going on period. And that while it still goes on, people try to be ignorant to it’s existance. Or that people can’t except or face that the concequences of their life is so fucked is because of their actions not something a person of a certain color might have did.
‘If you are black it’s better to live in the USA’. That’s not true … The are some reigns black people are treated like something extraterrestrial for example many post communistic counties – because of there isolation. In some parts of Italy if you’re black the live can be difficult – because of the right wing politics… But know body will shot you because there are less fire weapons in Europe : ).
If I remember the only capital in the world in which a demonstration of a racist organization (KKK) took place in Washington DC 1928 (almost like Berlin or Naples during the Second WW) The KKK hade 6 000 000 members it more then the Nazis party during this time period…
Now in the USA are over 200 major ‘hate groups’ how many members do they have is unknown. Comparing to Europe: Germany 34, France 18, Italy 28, UK 19-24(the exact number is unknown)

In slavery or racist movements… I understand your point about politically correct behavior shown by most people. But for example I have a mix nationality I have German, Czech, English and Polish roots although people in Germany treat me with that political correctness because they see a foreigner in me the same is in every country although I speak in those 4 languages with out an accent. Hear I can give an example from my own life: Four days ago in Poland (Silesia close to the German boarder) a Skinhead apparently Polish said to me ‘Heil Hitler’ I asked him If he Polish way is he a Skinhead – and just for that he attacked me (but soon regretted it)

I’m a white American who has backed Obama for months. I am horrified, but not shocked, that such a thing happend. The only shock is that I thought it would have happened in the U.S. first. I’d rather think that the attacker was truly insane than have to face the probable fact of his racism, which of course translates as fear and ignorance. The only chance for forward movement in the USA right now is with Mr. Obama. Racist bigoted people have always existed and always will. All we can do is keep trying to educate everyone. As I said, I’m white and I work for a firm that is 100% minority owned. My employer is black and we are open to everyone who is qualified. Hopefully all of our countries will move just a little closer in that direction if Barack Obama is elected president.
