DrJays.com PSA: Jaden’s Law
Boss Lady recently spoke with the very inspiring Shana and Bret Melius of Preserve Our Legacy, Inc about the huge importance of proposed bill Jaden’s Law for minority communities.
Jaden’s Law is inspired by Jaden Hilton, a three-year-old African-American boy who wasn’t able to find a matching donor and died of leukemia on January 29, 2007.
The proposed bill would require doctors and hospitals to advise all patients of their option to donate bone marrow, with an emphasis on people of color. Health disparities that affect minorities include diabetes, sickle cell anemia, heart disease, cancers and roughly 76 other diseases.
Shana and Bret discuss Jaden plus when and where people can donate bone marrow, the benefits to donations and what they are aiming to achieve with Preserve Our Legacy, Inc.

It should be a law period We have over 300 million plus people in America and we are required to pay taxes and this should be alaw a requirement to save a life!!!! I hear peppole all the time say I would die for you dog or I will give my right arm for you homie well tell them to prove it tell them how bout you give blood give bone morrow giving morrow hurts like hell!! But saving a life is something that will be with you forever and no good deed goes unrewarded, Give people and watch what your gift does
it should be a law but doctors ain’t gon be hearing that im sorry to say but if u don have insurance u definetly gon be treated like a 2nd class citizen in a hospital and the said part is most minorities don’t have insurance what we need is affordable and adequate health insurance for more minorities period yea medicaid is good but it doesn’t do everything. like my boy lux if u pay taxes u should be able to get decent health insurance.and if u got good health insurance people don’t take it for granted cause i know my doctor by name i know all his kids name hell i know the dude whole family tree cause everytime i get a cough i run up in there lol.
I LOOKED UP THIS WEBSITE FOR CLOTHING FOR OUR CHILDREN. WE ALSO HAD LOST OUR SWEET BABY TO LEUKEMIA. SHE WAS 19MONTHS, AND NOW IT’S 4YEARS LATER. WE HAD THE BEST MEDICAL CARE EVER BUT, THIS CANCER TAKES SO MANY LIVES.
I HOPE AND PRAY ALL THOSE THAT ARE TOUCHED BY THIS CANCER RECEIVE THE MIRACLE THEY ARE LOOKING FOR. AND IF NOT KNOW AND REALIZE GOD IS ABLE TO DO ALL THINGS.
interesting concept…Glad to see Drjays paying attention to a worthy cause..
Can you please provide more details.
