Old Dirty Tee by Listen

Listen clothing is the product of two music loving brothers, Renzo and Ricardo Revelli.

Established 2001 in Southern California, the idea for the brand was initially sparked by a poem that was used as a mix-tape intro – “LISTEN” by The Watts Poets.

The Revelli brothers first launched their own screen printing business, and then with the help of an artist named Kaboe, started the Listen clothing line.

They continue incorporate their collection of vinyl recordings and other archives into designs.

The tee pictured above depicts an animated Ol’ Dirty Bastard stacking blocks that spell out “RAW”.

The following tee is based on Common‘s classic ’94 single “Used to Love H.E.R.”.

The song compared his feelings about hip hop to loving a girl – both in a deteriorating state that he was determined to reverse.

The Judah tee features an image of the Lion of Judah, an ever-present symbol of the culture and spirituality of Rastafarianism:

It is stated on Listen’s website: “Our aim is to create extra awareness of the roots. To keep learning while bringing to the light original art that inspires the world, for a better overstanding of who we are”.

“Listen is Culture – Dig deep to get deeper”.
