Jermaine Dupri terminated from Island Records
According to Allhiphop.com, Jermaine Dupri has been let go from his position as President of Island Records Urban Music.
Dupri was hired for the position in Feb. 2007, just after the Island Records Urban division was created within Island Def Jam.
There is no word at this time on why Dupri was let go, or how this will affect TAG Records (a collaboration with the TAG brand intended for cross-promotion in ads), and the roster of artists on So So Def.

looks like So So Def will be finding a new distributor once again.
Not again……
glade to see this fool leave not a problem with his label or his artists but him as a whole and on another topic in which he started to hype up somthing and the hyped objects are now all the rage and theres now no end of them in sight
take a guess
Damn! whats happening. Entertainment as a whole is so CORNY.
I would love for the music to get back to the love, passion, and emotion. That’s when people will feel it. A lot of them is just doing it for the money and these execs thing they know what’s what and they don’t and it is a shame. These particular execs are killing all our stuff…music, fashion, you name it and they don’t respect us-Blacks.
weLl saID RUss!
well they say hiphop isn’t dying but it’s damn sure looking like it get together people don’t you think these execs mess it up enough all ready. we need somebody like jd he understand what’s needed.
Def Jam/Island Records is an incredible organization, whose musical rosters run very deep with talent. They are fully capable of making hit records. Jermaine Dupri is a class act. He has had some incredible success is the music business. I am confident that they will both be making hit records together OR without each other.
and he lost his woman… damn son
