Andre 3000’s clothing line struggles to survive
André Benjamin, better known as André 3000 of Outkast, just launched his own clothing line about four months ago.
WoooHa.com just exclusively reported that the line, Benjamin Bixby, is struggling to survive due to extremely low sales and excess inventory.
Unfortunately, the high-fashion, high-priced line had bad timing, launching at the beginning of one of the worst recessions in U.S. history.
With André being meticulous about quality and detail, the cost of production obviously increased.
Only limited quantities of Benjamin Bixby was produced, and it was mostly sold online on luxury sites like Barneys.com.
Although the line is fashionable and of high quality, sales have still been devastatingly low.
This is likely due to the fact that the name is not very well known, yet prices are demanding – for example, this sweater vest in the collection ran for $275:

BX Sweater Vest by Benjamin Bixby
Currently, the most of Benjamin Bixby is now more than 50% off at Barneys.
The brand really had no choice but to accept these drastic markdowns – unless they wanted to run the risk of having merchandise shipped right back to André himself!
WoooHa.com states it “has always been strong supporters of Mr. Benjamin and his out-of-the-box thinking and fashion sense, so we hope his clothing line can rebound.”
Your thoughts?

i like that vest!!!!
the collection is fly and it includes the type of clothes that a guy like myself would love to wear…IT JUS COST TOO MUCH!!!!!
i wouldnt wear that unless i was a gay man
im with ashey that **** made me laugh yea i like andre 3 k flow but his clothes are just like the franchise boys SUCK
Haha at ashley and marcus. I rock sweater vests with the long sleeve rolled up some and the shirt out on the bottom. It provides a best of both worlds type of swag. Your still classy with some flavor. It helps seperate you from the rest.
If I were aundre I’d smack the marketing team. They didn’t do their research right. They didn’t even coordinate the sales right. At least do work on the radio before. And not everyone is going to waste that much on something that isn’t established.
wwwwwwwwaaaaaaay too much money
CHICAAGO IS THE BEST!!!
I really appreciate Andre 3k’s style…it appeals to me very much, however I do agree that marketing research may have under analyzed the actual economic situation across the board. It maybe best to kinda ride this wave out then head back to the drawing board for another approach.
batty boi dem
hell noo i mean i respect home boi.. but uhhhh i im betta off rockin sum coogi .. he should got dA name out more……waste off moneyy
You would have to be white or a complete sell out to like this **** what the **** is wrong with Andre. No real **** in the hood would be seen in any of this ****.

“He aint in the hood no more”, now pull your pants up and grow up
I think that that the main reason the line isn’t doing well is because of the state of the economy. Even people who would normally pay $275 for a vest or not willing to do so right now. I think if they can wait it out for a while, sales numbers should take a serious climb.
he has a store in newyork that ama older brother goes to
I think that vest looks like the type that I can pick out of a burlington coat factory rack for 25$. Then if I really wanted to get grimy I can stich in the BX and rep the Bronx. NY
didnt i hear bout him winning some kinda award fpr his line (that we heard nothin about)
THE VEST IS OKAY. BUT ONE BIG PROBLEM IS THAT BIG PATCH IN THE MIDDLE. WITH THAT STYLE THE PATCH IS TOO MUCH. YOU WANT A CASUAL LOOK “THAT IS NOT FREE ADVERTISMENT FOR THE DESIGNER”.
275 IS SO HE CAN MAINTAIN THAT” MTV CRIBS”.
IS THIS VEST WORTH IT? OF COURSE NOT! BUT IN SOME STRANG WAY THEIR ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO FEEL IF IT’S NOT A CERTAIN BRAND THEY DON’T WANT IT. FOR THE PEOPLE WHO LIKE THIS VEST I ASK YOU THIS QUESTION. IF THIS VEST WAS AT K-MART, WALMART, OR TARGET WOULD YOU BUY IT?
Yes i would buy it…….LOL i think i only shop at Drjays “on sale line”lol balla on a budget, balla on a budget………….any thing else is unsatisfactory..we in a recession.
