Shay Dechelle – winner of the 2009 Kani Ladies Model Search

Selected from over 2000 aspiring models in a contest that ran for five months, 25-year-old Shay Dechelle has been chosen as the face of Kani Ladies Fall/Winter 2009 campaign.

Thousands of people cast their vote on DrJays.com and on February 2nd, Karl Kani, Boss Lady and top Dutch photographer Ruud Baan crowned the Ford model and pharmacy student the winner.

Dechelle, an Arizona native, says she’s always had a passion for modeling and supermodels such as Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn and Coco Rocha have inspired her to pursue a career in modeling.

Kani Ladies’ newest model wins a glamorous photo shoot in Paris, France with renowned photographer Baan, an all-expenses paid five day trip to Europe for her and a friend plus a Kani Ladies apparel package worth US$1500.

Runner up Kemylee B and third place winner Laura Watson have both won apparel packages (second place worth US$1000 and third place worth US$500).
