VIBE magazine will feature T.I. on its April 2009 cover.

The issue will be available on Mar. 24th, just days before T.I.’s prison sentence begins.

On Mar. 27th, the star will be locked up for one year and a day for possession of firearms.

The issue features an in-depth report titled “Cell Therapy”, where VIBE Senior Editor Benjamin Meadows-Ingram documents T.I.’s legal battle and “gut-wrenching journey” since his 2007 arrest.

When the length of T.I.’s future jail time was announced last year, many felt that he got off pretty light for such serious charges, and screamed “Snitch!” instantly.

T.I.’s response? “Ain’t no such thing as a secret snitch…Pull up my agreement. It’s public record”.

Instead of using typical punishment, U.S. Attorney David Nahmias saw an opportunity for the rapper to use his star power and experience to help thousands of children at risk of committing crime.

T.I. was interviewed in Washington, D.C., on the eve of President Barack Obama’s inauguration, where he accepted an award from the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network for his work with the “Respect My Vote” campaign.

VIBE follows the rapper during some of his court-mandated speaking engagements and the filming of his MTV show, “T.I’s Road to Redemption”.

The story showcases remarkable photos of T.I. reenacting poses made famous by legendary cultural icons Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg.
