Inside Asher Roth’s debut album listening session
Last night while Kiki and Boss Lady covered the Roc4Life.com event, your favorite buyer EMitts hit the official NYC listening session for Asher Roth’s Asleep in the Bread Aisle album.
Roth’s single “I Love College” is certified gold in the Billboard Charts.

Roth, who hails from a small town just outside of Philadelphia, started rapping in high school.
Scooter Bradshaw, former VP of Marketing at Jermaine Dupri’s So So Def Records, discovered Roth on MySpace.
I got a chance to catch up with Asher, blogger Dallas Penn and John Brown (”King of the Burbz”) last night. Check out the video:
Asleep In The Bread Aisle is due out April 21st on SRC/Universal Motown Records.
It includes appearances by Cee-Lo, Keri Hilson, Chester French, Busta Rhymes and Jazze Pha.
My favorite track on the album is “As I Em” with Chester French. The song addresses the influence Eminem has on Roth, along with the differences of the two rappers style and background.
This will be an album in heavy rotation this summer!

i haven’t heard any of his songs besides ‘i love college’ but i felt like i could’ve wrote it! his voice sounds like a lazy eminem (and pauly shore too now that it’s mentioned). only people who like that song are douchebags with tight affliction shirts & tribal tattoos at the bars!
