Mick Boogie’s NYC birthday bash

Last night, your girl Kiki attended Mick Boogie‘s birthday party at NYC hot spot, Mr. West.
There was a lot going on at the event, with DJs Mos and Just Blaze spinning, and even the Real Housewives of Atlanta were present, shooting a scene for the show.
Other notable attendees: Ryan Leslie, DJ Khaled, Jus Ske, O’Neal McKnight and more.

For those of you not familiar with him, Mick Boogie is a well respected live DJ, and also known for his creative mixtapes.
He grew up in Ohio, and like many ambitious big dreamers, he eventually made the leap to NYC.
Mick Boogie’s love for music was evident at an early age, and his hip hop career was sparked after his mother bought him turntables.
He received a masters degree in marketing just over 10 years ago, working at multiple radio stations while in school.
These days, Mick Boogie is collaborating with the likes of Jay-Z, Talib Kweli, Mobb Deep and more. He also produced the Kidz in the Hall album, Detention, and as featured in our previous post, he worked with Mekka Don on his album, All Eyes on Me.
His 2006 mixtape, The Pre-Up, was hosted by Eminem and The Alchemist, and dubbed by Rolling Stone as one of the top five hip hop mix CDs of the year
Here’s a taste of his work:
