Sneak Peek: A Man’s Thoughts by Ginuwine
Ginuwine with DrJays.com’s Kiki and Boss Lady
Boss Lady and Kiki were invited to Ginuwine’s listening session last night for his upcoming album, A Man’s Thoughts.
The down to earth vocalist, whose R&B hits include “In Those Jeans”, “Stingy” and “Differences”, walked into Taj nightclub (Chelsea, Manhattan) to the strains of his breakthrough single, “Pony”.

After a quick welcome from Ginuwine’s manager Kedar Massenburg, Ira DeWitt (Notifi Records) introduced Ginuwine, thanking the crowd for supporting his music over the years.
“We really enjoyed making this album”, she said enthusiastically. “It’s very special; it’s his sixth album. And after eight years, Timbaland, Missy Elliott and Ginuwine are finally back [recording] together.”
Ginuwine took the microphone next, thanking everyone: “I’ve been out for 14 years now and I’ve never burned any bridges, as you can see from the turn-out tonight.”
He then previewed the album’s tracklisting, kicking off with the sexy single “Show Off” (”This is a song I did for the ladies; a song for ladies whether you’re black, white, Spanish, big, small – you show off whatever you have”), pulling girls from the crowd to dance with him.
He then moved on to “Trouble” featuring Bun B, his current single “Last Chance”, and then one sultry slow jam after another: “One Time For Love”, “Open The Door”, “Orchestra”. Then came the Jodeci-inspired “Lying To Each Other”, “Even When I’m Mad”, “Bridge To Love (a duet with Brandy), “Used To Be The One” and “Show Me The Way”.
Perhaps one of R&B’s most underrated entertainers (if you get the chance to see him perform live, he puts on one serious show) Ginuwine definitely has a another quality set of baby-making music on his hands with A Man’s Thoughts.
Special thanks go out to Richie Abbott, Senior Director, Publicity, Warner Bros Records, Theda Sandiford at Miss Theda Publicity and Kedar Massenburg (Kedar Entertainment/Korus Wines) for a great event.
A Man’s Thoughts is out June 23 through Notifi/Kedar Entertainment/Asylum Records.

Ginuwine is the MAN and the ladies love when I put his s*it on!!!
HELLZ YEAH HE’S BACK!! I gotta peep the rest of his tracks. Oh and the ladies of Dr. Jays be lookin lovely as usual.
I agree with ALL of the above – especially the beautiful ladies of Dr. Jays, who also seem to have impeccable taste in music. I’m impressed. I’m really glad that everything is good between him, Missy, and Timbaland. During his hiatus, I wondered about that relationship – especially when I heard about him having been signed to some fake label that a guy started to scam money. I think I read something like that a good while back on hiphopdx.com, and I was like, “Why would Missy and Timbaland let their boy go out like that?” Glad that it’s all good and that they are working together again. Now that all of that is out of the way… Has anybody seen Tweet?
Chris I was wondering what happen to tweet too. I haven’t heard anything on her in a while. And that girl could sing her ass off.
I heard somewhere that Tweet’s next single will be produced by Timbaland and Missy.
I’m actually disappointed in this tracklisting 1. A lot of the tracks have leaked already and 2. ONLY ONE TIMBALAND TRACK?
Honestly, that one Timbo track might be the only one because it’s all Ginuwine could afford, signifying that their relationship isn’t as solid as it once was. That would be messed up, but it wouldn’t surprise me because people do seem to have a tendency to choose money over loyalty these days. No collaborations with Solé on the album?
Sole has retired from mainstream music. She does gospel stuff now if I remember correctly.
I just hit up Ginuwine via twitter and he says there will be two Timbaland tracks. That’s more like it
Yeah chris that’s true. I know people that hit me up for hookups on car parts or to get into shows, modeling, some gossip in the industry I might know, what car i’m modding and how i’m doing it etc. They front like we’re friends or something. I separate business and loyalty/friendship because others will mix it. It really never ends up well when you mix it. Because someone will abuse it.
So sometimes for a good friendship you got to make the lines clear. I got a few homies that hook me up on stuff. I don’t work them for a cheaper price or waste their time because they got to eat.
Yo, what kind of car modifications do you do?
Ginuwine does not have a twitter! Also the reason he has one song with Timbo is because he’s unable to afford the new Timbo rate which is crazy to me because they all came up together like literally they all slep in the same house…smh
Mostly I just sold aftermarket parts for mostly imports. I really don’t like to work on other peoples cars unless I haft too. but the sc300 I had I did the intake, hid kit, modded the exhaust, put a new front on it, lip kit, lights, upgraded the sound system. Changed the lights in the cluster and the ac console, wheels, coilovers, pads and slotted and drilled rotors etc.
On the chrysler 300 I did the catback exhaust, grille, sway bars, lowering springs, hid kit, modded the intake. I’m thinking about some other stuff.
Thanks to mel for reinforcing my earlier point.
@ Rick Lexington: I asked because I’m thinking of getting into a new Chevrolet Camaro, but I really want to make it a custom hardtop convertible (I’ve seen these things done before, especially at custom shops which are featured on TV). Doesn’t sound like you’re into the heavy stuff like that (please correct me if I’m wrong) but maybe you could point me in the direction of someone who can?
I’m kind of into that, but honestly I stay away from anything that might be a run on hassle. I’ve done conversions etc. Past experiences with other cars haven’t been good lol. I’ll look around to see if anyone does that.
Does Ginuwine have an official Twitter?
