I have been spending “special time” with Russell for about 4 months and in that time I have learned some subtle things about some in the black community that have surprised me. I must say that while it has been a bit of a challenge for me, it has also been a wonderful learning experience. I realize that in this day of Obama and change that there is still a tremendous amount of poverty, suffering and pain in the black community, and for that I am deeply sorry. But, I have to say the angry responses to those realities are sometimes misdirected….Just for the record, I am nobody’s white b*tch, gold digger or fame chaser. Nor am I any of the other mean things I have been called lately. I don’t need anything from anybody, I come from a good family and I’m a young independent “successful” model making my way in NYC. Finally, I just wanna say that Russell has been a great “special” friend and I’m sure as sh*t not giving him up cause some in America object to our friendship. I wanna close by saying, what Russell always says, Namaste. (That means the goddess in me recognizes the goddess in you)….Or, b*tch get your own man.

1. Why it got to be a white bitch, black bitch, big bitch, bitch bitch. I think the word bitch covers the insult pretty well. bitch. <— new record for most bleeped out words in a single sentence.

1. Well people from other races are still intimidated etc by blacks period. I play people on that all the time. Why because they do stupid stuff. I’ll say it like this If I ever got into a fight, altercation or whatever. If it was with a brotha it was one on one. The color we’re all forgetting about here, when examining this relationship, or racial issues in general, is… green.
The color of money is more powerful than any skin tone. In fact, the greatest divides and causes for racial inequality are economically based. If your hood, then your hood- don’t matter if your black, white, or anything else. If you’re broke you suffer and that suffering comes out in a variety of ways- some positive, most negative.
If you have money (grew up having money, I should say), then you have privilege, an are not so prone to make these ignorant moves that put down another, whether it’s your own race or a different one.
If we fix the economic divide and provide lower income families (white, black, hispanic, asian, etc.) a chance to be educated and succeed, then we will all see we are on the same side and play on the same field.

First of all any woman dating Russell Simmons should expect that kind of treatment. This father of two girls got national television and defended rappers who degrade women. They blamed the record companies who would only buy derogatory records and then Ruseel Simmons, David Banner, and other rappers made excuse for these companies. I think Star could have worded her comment a little better, but she has some good points. Frankly, If you think in this day that black women are treated equally, may i suggest you kindly remove your head from your a**. I disagree that any woman should be called a b****, regardless of her color, her demenor, or her actions. Its derogatory and dehumanizing, but the problem is not only men, but women who find words like these to be cute because their mothers and fathers never taught them to never let anyone disrespect them. As for interacial dating noone cares about that. Most black women get angry because alot of these black men act as if these other races are superior to black women. There was a blog on here some time ago about where some Dj or something was outlined how white women are more submissive, as if the idiot lumped women of all races in one little box and decided we are like little dolls who all act alike and alot of the male bloggers agreed, like uneducated sheeple without the ability to discern people of every gender and race as individuals. Take a sociology class, my friend, because you live in LA LA land. You know as well as I do that black women are judged more harshly. You can’t deny whats in print. I think there are geniune interacial relationship, built on love and mutual respect, but I also believe we there are just as many that are built on superficial idealism of racial superiority. Until black men stop bragging about thier “snow bunnies”, and start bragging about the beautiful woman they meet, and until black men stop bragging how they only date white women and start dating women, and until black men stop making idiotic comments that begin with “All black women act….” there will always be a black woman angry about interracial dating.
C your smoking. I know plenty of rich kids and people that put down others. I know some that don’t. The key to treating other people with respect etc is being raise right and growing up right or atleast sorting out stuff when you grow up messed up.
Lower economic areas won’t be fixed because of GREED. Most people don’t want to think about others only about themselves. People don’t see the bigger picture. They want a big score now and not build up. Or they want something to use and abuse. Which is why we’re in this situation now. Because people were thinking about themselves and not others or the big picture.
You have a good point which I’ve been saying for years. If all the races get together then it’ll all work. But that’s not going to happen lol. People have fragile egos and don’t want to understand the other cultures. Not to mention in this country there can’t be more than one good thing. People constantly talk smack about the others. And that gets picked up.

i find that race doesn’t matter when it comes to who you love and friendship. neither love or friendship know color, age, height and weight for that matter. i really don’t understand why it is such an issue about the color of a person when you should look at their character.

Dino open your eyes, that’s every race. I’m laughing at what your saying because it’s the same recycled stuff people say. Of other races lol. Actions speak louder than words. The people that were at school were mostly hispanic. There was a lot of people that weren’t cool with me till they found out I was part hispanic.
One of my best friends is pinoy his wife’s friends are pinay. His wife and I are cool I get 2nd rate treatment from her friends compared to the other homies. Thing is they noticed that. Oh and some of their men that are white tried to stare me down. Let’s just say I handled the situations. But thing is there’s a lot of politics that go on because of my race so don’t tell me it’s a past thing.
I roll through white neighborhoods and I get looks and other shit. I have family that live there. One of their neighbors moved because his wife and mother inlaw was uncomfortable living next to blacks. My family has to becareful of what they do because it’ll be perceived different. So don’t tell me it’s different. But I don’t base their treatment for everyone.

Unfortunately, no. World culture does not begin to unearth the socio-economic aspects of the cultures. Most studies of cultures primarily focus on superficial cultural heritage rather than the underlying psychological undertones and the resounding impact positions in a social class have on the individuals who make up that particular group. Honestly though, the depth of study in these classes depends on your proffesor, but I’m not convinced you understood what I meant. You typed an essay and completely missed my point. Why should black women have to adapt? Why should we be required,in any way to, alter our God given characteristics to blend into a society that shines a negative light on any cultural differences. My point about being beautiful , rich, and successful, was not that it should be all that a woman has, but that another race in that position is often considered more. You say adapt, but your explanation sounds exactly like what I was Speaking against in my post. That black girl you saw in Walmart,WAS ONE BLACK GIRL! Not all of us. I’ll have the last word then. The only insults I typed were response to your attemps to insult me. A bit hypocritical to accuse me of being cranky . You assume I’m angry because I don’t agree with your point. Intelligent people disagree without taking it personal all the time. I find the whole thing amusing. I know I’m long winded. LOl. Great points. I’ve been married for 3 years to a white man. My poor baby thinks hes hood, but hes just too sweet. I don’t tell him. LOl. Met him at Mcdonalds. He was dressed like a thug, but he approached me like a gentleman. He took care of my mother while I was in class when she was going through chemo. Sat up with me all night when she passed. Took care of me when I almost fell apart. We see each other as the people we love. Nothing more or less.

Oh i’m never in a we are the world mode. When I get in a discussion, I only have two objectives “learn and improve” and/or “get my point across”. When it strays from that, it’s pointless. The more personally offended you get the more blind you get. Then your objective changes which is why it sways. But sometimes it’s fun to play people on that lol, then it gets boring. All of which in the stuff above.
I’ve been in racially charged debates in ethics class, in which another brother left and changed class, people thought I was going to beat their asses but I just listened to what they said and debated back using their stuff as ammo and explained the reasons and differences, also where they messed up lol. I was respected for that, because I stuck to the point, ignored the bs, didn’t insult them, got their respect so they listened and understood. If I was sensitive then I would’ve insulted them and not wanted to see things from their side.

For example, my best friend is Puerto Rican and her baby’s dad is black her whole family made a huge deal because he wasnt Hispanic and did not want anything to do with the baby.
