Inside Style with Kesha Mcleod
Celebrity Stylist Kesha Mcleod
Hey style mavericks and mavens! My name’s Kesha Mcleod and I’m a celebrity stylist. I’ll be a featured monthly columnist for DrJays.com Live.
Want to know what my day-to-day job is? I dress some of the best acts in entertainment, fashion and sports. Usually my days include shopping, dressing and now giving you all little tidbits of my style on the people I work with.
My vision of a career in fashion came at the early age of 22; my innovative style grew by my dedication and hard work.
With a degree in Fashion Merchandising, I began my career in personal shopping and then became a wardrobe stylist, styling for a variety of independent artists and friends.
Soon after, I had two of the best styling mentors in the industry – Rachel Johnson (LeBron James, Jamie Foxx) and Groovey Lew (Notorious B.I.G., Lil Wayne) – to show me the ropes.

Now at 24, my styling experience has evolved and I focus on styling complete wardrobes, event-specific looks, photo shoots and videos. My roster includes Ne-Yo, the San Francisco 49ers’ Vernon Davis, Veronica Webb and Faith Evans. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with Jadakiss, Rick Ross, Nas and Keyshia Cole.
I worked with my most recent client last week on a new project; it’s extremely top secret and slated for release in July. I will give you people the heads up with more info when I can!
Here’s my favorite trend of the moment: FRINGE
Model wearing fringe scarf
A hot new trend I see that’s been hitting the streets and started to take full bloom by spring is fringe.
This piece should be in full force by fall and is now taking over bags, shoes, boots, jackets, vests, even hair – plus people are even slicing their jeans to get fringe effects.

How do you feel about the fringe trend?
Also leave me a comment with any questions you have and I’ll do my best to answer them in the next post!

Hey Kesha! This is a great idea for a column. In your next column I’d love to know what kind of work goes into styling particular artists – do you do research on their look, do you go as far as to choose which colors suit them, etc? And is it tough to deal with certain artists? I always wanted to know about diva attitudes and things like that
Thanks!!
I want to know your favorite outfits for a girl and guy – maybe put some things together from DrJays.com, give us ideas on how we should hook things up? And for our guys too hahaha
