Weekend Love: How do you keep the flame alive?

Married since 1997, Robert DeNiro and wife Grace Hightower renewed their vows in 2004
For all of you out there in serious relationships, how do you keep your flame alive with your significant other?
Is it by spending some time apart, so “absence makes the heart grow fonder”, or perhaps participating in exciting hobbies together?
Here are a couple of tips that Dr. Catherine Birndorf, a clinical associate professor of psychiatry, shared with msn.com:
“Share your thoughts. Leave a note for your partner in the morning, send a flirty text message or e-mail, or leave a sweet voicemail when you know he or she is away from the phone. These tiny acts of appreciation are sure to brighten your partner’s day”.
“Give in once in a while. On special occasions, let your partner choose something he or she enjoys but you may not. You may be surprised how good it feels to give selflessly and end up having a great time”.
The Obamas‘ relationship is the envy of many. It seems that they have tremendous respect for each other, share laughs together, and we’ve all seen photos of them showing PDA on their date nights.

We would love to hear your thoughts on how to make a relationship last and stay exciting!

sucka for love
Keep it fresh like you first met and your still trying to win that other person over no matter how long its been. Relationships get lame when you get comfortable, then you start thinking bout how things used to be. You have to keep comin with new spontaneous ways to keep your partner hooked romantically and in the sack FORever. You also have to have a good balance of time and space. You can’t be up under each others neck 24-7 but you have to make sure you have time devoted just for one another. Most importantly you have to remain friends as well as lovers and have good old fashioned fun together.
