DrJays.com Debate: Is Kelis asking too much?

According to TMZ.com, Kelis has made it public that she is broke following her split with Nas.
She is claiming that although Nas is quite wealthy, he is not paying her prenatal expenses or any other type of support.
Kelis is demanding spousal support, child support, all pregnancy-related expenses, and half of all medical expenses after the child is born. She also wants about $23,500 after that child’s birth for the nursery, strollers, cribs, etc.
On top of this, she says she’s entitled to continue living the good life she would have had with Nas – flying first class, going to fancy restaurants, buying extravagant jewelry and the list goes on.
Although I’m sure most would agree that Nas should be forking over money for his child, is Kelis out of line by expecting to continue living a lavish lifestyle at Nas’ expense?
And if Nas was really unfaithful to her, is it fair for him to do this to her?

Hmm this is what gets me.
1. She’s worried about still living the good life. Umm how about worry about raising your kid. If she’s worried about still living this life style and not raising the baby somethin is wrong.
Aside from that, he should pay half or a majority of the bills. They should really have a system of where the moms provide receipts of the stuff bought for the kid, because I have a feeling that will be used for the mom as well. He should pay spousal support but not in crazy amounts. She needs to face that she’s not with him anymore… no nas, no good life. It was a good ride. That dude has states on his side etc, not a good idea to make him look bad.
Who wants to put money that there will be a book out?
Hmmm, my thoughts, you should never bank on a man takin care of you. First off what happened to her money? Didn’t she drop three albums? Then again i guess I bought not a one….. Naw I don’t think he should continue to support her but I do think he should be payin for and takin care of his child. He needs to handle this quick in a civil way before things get real ugly. You know what happened to Eddie when he was frontin on Mel B’s baby; she took his a$$ straight to the cleaners.I wish I was her child, lol.
First of all, it was reported on another site that Nas’s lawyers filed a motion not to allow spousal support, presumably because she’s a singer with a career (although if she wants to capitalize on said career, she better move to the U.K., but that’s another story) and has the ability to earn a check. Is she asking too much? IS THIS A TRICK QUESTION? Asking too much is the understatement of the year. If there was a prenuptial agreement, which I am assuming from these requests that there was not, it wouldn’t matter what she asked for. We’re looking at a woman that Nas referred to as a queen on his last album. She turned out to be a groupie in disguise, it seems, as it is clear that she never planned on doing anything other than sitting on her milkshake since marrying him. Let’s be clear. Nas plans to take care of his son, just as he is taking care of his daughter, Destiny, despite the fact that he is no longer involved with her mother. Kelis needs to provide for herself. To think that this chick has the audacity to say that even though she’s leaving she’s entitled to the life that he provided? If you leave the man, you leave his money as well. That’s not spousal support she’s asking for, it’s welfare. To quote Kanye, “I ain’t sayin’ she’s a gold digger.” Get a prenup, people. Seriously. We’re in a recession. Nas is a rebel and always has been, there’s no way he’s going to let this go. She’s in for a bitter court battle if she really attempts to pursue all this money. With him having the money and better relationships with his lawyers, my money’s on God’s Son. I don’t care how “Bossy” Kelis thinks she is. She’ll find herself singing “I Just Wanna Get Along With You.”
Oh, and shout out to Rick Lexington. You KNOW that book is coming out and gold-diggers as well as drama-filled babymamas already have it wishlisted on Amazon. I can see it now, “Tattooed on His Arm by Kelis Rogers.
If I was Nas I would whisper in her ear you remember “RAY CARUTH” it would solve tha whole thing lol

Kelis is definitely gone lose this battle! The judge is gone to look at her and say, “DENIED”! The baby will definitely be taking care of…I think that is why Nas is being so positive because he knows that he is handling his business with the baby! Kelis is doing all this public bashing for what? Kelis get back on the road…Kelis just performed in Russia in April at 6+ months pregnant…so she needs to stop!
