DrJays.com’s Aaron Jones (Merchandise Manager), Boss Lady and Mike Kim at MAGIC, August 2008

To expand a little bit on what my desk buddy and dear friend Nancy Lee had to say, I believe the sneaker game has decided to take a bit of a nap. Nobody is rocking SB’s anymore and the Dunk phenomenon has been so watered down that I wouldn’t be surprised to see somebody’s dad wearing some awful GRs shopping for some Wrangler jeans at Target.

You’ll never find me camping outside a sneaker spot at 11pm the night before a release in a line full of overweight hypebeasts who can’t fit in their skinny jeans, carrying skate decks they never use. The kicks won’t get you laid. If you’re trying to cop a Jordan release, do yourself a favor. Just get on Footlocker.com around midnight of the release and cop them online. You’ll save yourself a lot of trouble. You won’t have to deal with some snobby 35 year old dudes who still dress like they’re 18, power tripping ’cause they’re wearing some Tiffanys. You can always save your dough and spend ‘em on some JNCOs.

  • I agree, but you got to look at things in a positive light. Which coming from me is funny, if there was a cup that was half full/empty I’d probably kick the person closest to it for drinking it. But I digest. Things get played, whored or whatever out. This is when people look for other things out there.

An example would be a few years back the clothing game was mad dull. I was tired of the stuff that was out there. The things were either jank and everyone was wearing it or things that I liked didn’t fit or fit right because to be honest some of the companies were on one. One of the solution to my troubles came into the form of a website named dr. jays.com that provided to my needs and wants. Some others was me looking into other avenues and improving other aspects of my swag. It was to the point where I didn’t even give a damn what everyone else wore but people were caring what I wore and tried to follow suit. Actually it’s still there.

Guess what I’m getting at is the kicks game is dead or maybe in a plastic state but someone will find a light then others will follow. But if you like what your doing then do it. Who cares what others think. To you the only happiness that matters should be your own. Not whatever exclusiveness, or approval of others like others do.

Im 28 and I expanding my look and it isant just denim and shoes Im doing hard bottoms and slacks nice dress shirts, I love the feel and i especially love the looks I get. I want to to take it the next level and get custom shirts and suits when my funds are ready for it. I still get dougie in whatever i do but its no long one sided its other aspects to my swag whats good Rick!

  • Whaddup Lux! I’m good, whats good with you.

I thought about custom too but I look at it as I’m going to change styles/fit before I even get the value out of it. I’d rather get a suit, get it fitted by people who know what their doing. Not to mention I’d be broke lol. I like a good dress shirt and pants combo too.

And there are those who try too hard at that too or just do it wrong and you can tell who they are like with the shoes etc. One of my homies is really up on his suit/dress/higher end game. I refer to him to co sign on some things or if there’s something I don’t know. Yeah he’s kind of like my stylist lol. He tells me with my taste I should be messing with higher end brands, but I told him my philosophy.
