Akademiks has been one of the prominent urban brands for 10 years now, usually not shy of plastering their logo all over collections. Now, artists like Santigold and MIA are rocking the line as we see the brand’s fits, details and denim quality evolving.

Do you find these updated looks to be a refreshing change, or should Akademiks have stuck with their traditional urban style?

Is it me or does that model look similar to Kimora LEE?

I think this is a much needed change — a wake up call to the world of streetwear. Akademiks is one of the leaders in the industry, and it’s safe to assume they’ve got a lot of influence over other brands.

With that said, I hope others jump on the subtle detail > flamboyance bandwagon (while still remaining original).

It’ll be phat if the same idea carries over to Akademiks’ menswear line ^_^.
