Harold Hunter Foundation’s NYC BBQ Skate Jam

A couple of our top brands, New Era and LRG, are part of the “Harold Hunter Foundation BBQ Skate Jam” this Sunday in NYC.
This event honors the late professional skater and actor Harold Hunter (April 2, 1974 – February 17, 2006), and the foundation created under his name.

Harold Hunter
Harold was a NYC native best known for his role in the 1995 raw hit movie Kids.

He got his start skating with a group that hung out near Tompkins Square Park in the East Village.
Harold was known for his “goofy-footed” style, with his favorite skateboarding tricks including the Backside Heel, 360 Ollie, Nollie Heel, Feeble Grind, and the Switch Crooked Grind.
Skating at the “Brooklyn Banks” with fellow pros like Dave Ortiz, Jeff Pang and more, he was eventually sponsored by Zoo York.
As stated on his official website, “Harold was one of the crew’s funniest members. His uncommon skating power, raw speed and poise made him a standout”.

Have you seen Kids? I remember being slightly traumatized after watching it years ago…

I just heard about that movie and got it the other day! Haven’t watched it yet, but I’m pretty sure that I will probably be a little traumatized after watching it as well – heavy stuff.
Never heard of the guy until now and he seems to have been a very cool guy.Skating is a sport to me and now you see way more kids doing it then ever before.I might have to check out the movie too.
R.I.P. Harold Hunter, I’m on the grind everyday because of this guy and Kennan Milton.
