Do Guys Care About Real Hair?
A friend of mine called me yesterday hysterical because her boyfriend found a hair weave track in the pocket of her pajamas. “You should have seen his face! He was terrified, held it with two fingers and dangled it out in front of him like it was a piece of roadkill.”
She explained to him that it was merely a harmless hair extension. With a sigh of relief, he shrugged the whole thing off and proceeded to change the subject. Thankfully, he didn’t care what she did with her hair as long as it looked nice and she was happy with the style.
I know a few guys who are obsessed with weaves and the like, always stretching their curious fingers towards my scalp to check for tracks. Black girls in general don’t usually do things like kiss in the rain or head to the pool with intentions of actually getting their hair wet. Our hair is high maintenance even if it doesn’t always appear to be. When Solange shaved her head and explained the reasons behind the buzz cut, I completely understood where she was coming from. Understanding doesn’t mean I have the courage to follow in her footsteps though.
A lot of women wear weaves from time to time to try new lengths, colors, styles and textures without altering the state of their own hair. Some guys wish they could run their fingers through their honey’s tresses. Others will tell you stories about how they caught a beatdown trying to do so. What do you think?
To me it does not matter, but since most of my family consists of females i can tell the diffrence. What makes it noticeable is quality. if done s****y you will get clowned.

yeah we do. i dont even like make-up on girls, i mean littttle bit is okay but why dont you just be real? if you got real beauty it will show. oh and dont even get me started on girls with perfectly fine breasts getting implants just to make them bigger, theres so much wrong with that im not even gonna start. be real.

Real hair is always a plus and weave is straight too (as long as it’s done right). What really gets on my nerves is when a woman has beautiful NATURAL hair and then she goes and throws a few tracks in. I mean how much of a difference is a couple of inches going to make??
Weave or no weave, ultimately who you are as a woman is what matters…not how many tracks you can put in your head.

Yes, it matters to me because weave makes my face itch and it holds the smell of whatever you were by i.e. your weave can smell like fried chicken for a whole day LOL
I DONT CARE MUCH BUT I DONT LIKE IT WHEN WOMEN OVER DO IT. NATURAL HAIR IS A BONUS TO ME BUT IF THE LADY NEEDS A WEAVE TO FIX HER HAIR UP A BIT I DONT REALLY CARE.

But I do find the whole artificial thing disturbing at times. I’ll see a girl all dolled up and it doesn’t look right to me when they’re all caked up, nip tuck whatever da f&*@, sea biscuit hair, kryptonian super pushup bra with hydros, bionic catch a nigga eyelashes etc. There’s a point and time where your like “what the hell is really on this girl”, “do I haft to card this girl?”
I have crazy hair and my cousin she has it too. Sometimes I’ll play with till she looks at me like wtf am I doing she’s got hair like tianna taylor. I doubt she will ever get or has had a weave tracks etc. That being said solange cut hers off for popularity lol. Hello timing.
I care quite deeply about this subject. I could never date a women with fake hair. I once broke up with a girl because I found out that she had fake hair after we started to date. She said it was real when we first met. I don’t know why I dont like it so much but I just feel like I am being lied to when a women has fake hair. If I found a track in my pocket I would freak the hell out. hahaha The guy you spoke of was fairly calm. I feel the same way about fake nails, eyelashes, color contacts, too much makeup(Some is okay) etc.. It just looks tacky in my opinion. If you want long hair then don’t cut your original hair. So yeah I care, I care very much.

I agree with Boss Lady. Whatever makes you happy, and for the guys that ain’t havin it, there are plenty that don’t mind.
I do hair and if one day I wanna wear hair down my back touching my knees I will & if I wanna wear it as short you can roll it with rice I will do that too, if a man wants me (i’m married by the way) he would have to take me whole or nothing. My love has nothing to do with my hair. Changing my hair up is what makes me happy & why we have hair in the first place. If a dude was to ever try to come out his face & say some dumb mess about breaking up with me cause of my hair he would only prove to me why he don’t need to be in my life & he would need to get outta my face. There’s more important things in a relationship to focus on that someone’s hair, that’s shallow! I wonder what the feeling would be if his d*** was small or if he has to use a pump THEN we’ll see what is more of a signigifance! HA!

I CAN SEE EVERYONE’S POINT OF VIEW. however, in defense of women who wear weaves & LACE WIGS, such as myself, its a seasonal thing. sometimes i cut my hair like RIHANNA AND THE VERY NEXT DAY, MAY WANT THE BEYONCE DOWN TO MY BUTT HAIR. its how i express my style & i see nothin wrong with it. i have a nice grade of hair but whether i did or not, it shouldnt matter. A LOT OF US DONT CONSIDER CHARACTER anymore.
i can’t believe the guy that said he broke up with the girl because she wears weave,my hair is long but i still wear weave. my man has seen me with long hair, short hair, half shaved down. he loves me regardless and i love him, he tells me how beautiful i am daily. so a girl can be a heartless bitch as long as she has natural hair? try getting to know the person inside. i am a good women and if a man decides he doesn’t want to date me beacause i wear weave it’s his loss!

Boss lady you hit it right on!!! I was gonna comment on how i have witnessed a guy talk down upon a beautiful women who had additional tracks (her hair was tight though) and turn right around and tried to spit at a store bought BLEACH BLOND with mix matched hair clip on’s, aresol can Tan that was dripping on her hind leg, seriousouly artificail breast and HOARDS of makeup CAKED on. I then realized that if most black men are more concerned about what ON the head instead of what’s IN it then this whole issue is obviously THEY’RE problem and not ours. SO LADIES CONTINUE TO DO YOU!!!
i definately agree with bosslady and cuteseygirl….seriously guys..now adays you dont decide what women want to do with themselves…if we like it…we like it….i get it you need an opinion but you cant over power a women….women are strong, wether you like it or not….and dont base your relationship on hair! wtf? hair? are you kidding me?……you have time to actually sit there and break up with someone over HAIR…..wow…..what the hell is wrong with the world these days…..
I 100% agree with Boss Lady. I don’t think it’s fair that men bash women who wear weaves or add some hair on, but when it comes to celebrities, they are drooling. Half of the black female celebrities wear some type of fake hair…but you don’t hear men bashing them…so it’s quite unfair. It should REALLY be about what is on the inside…there are plenty of females with REAL hair who have HORRIBLE personalities…and there are plenty of females with FAKE hair who have AWESOME personalities…
