Da Truth

Yeah, yeah, yeah…Everybody knows about Kanye West and his hit record, “Jesus Walks” and how emcees wear crosses and tattoos to show their love for Jesus Christ.

Not too often do you hear from certified Christian rappers in mainstream music, nor do you see them being plastered, promoted or sold like secular musicians.

As a matter of fact, Christian rap really isn’t that popular in the mind of an “average” Hip-Hop head. I think things are changing…

They say that spirituality is something that you need in order to find definition, purpose and a personal relationship with God.

They say religion is full of useless rituals and traditions that don’t really secure everlasting life or peace with self.

They say hip-hop is a sub-culture designed to uplift the community and give the disenfranchised an opportunity to utilize their tools of freedom. I agree with all of those statements.

In particular, I’ve become a huge fan of Christian rapper, Da Truth. He proves with his latest album, The Big Picture that rapping about Jesus can actually be ill and successful. Check for yourself.

Check out his EPK:

Check him out in NYC on his Big Picture Tour:
