Following the success of her two previous fragrances, M and Luscious Pink, Mariah Carey is launching a new signature scent this fall, available September 2009.

She tells PEOPLE: “Fragrance is so personal, and Forever captures that glamorous feeling that I want to share with my fans.”

The perfume is said to contain notes of lotus blossom, tuberose, gardenia, exotic woods and white musk.

“When we work with celebrities, we aim to put together a project which is representative of their life,” said Ron Rolleston, executive vice president for global fragrance marketing at Elizabeth Arden, of the new women’s launch.

“Mariah’s happily married, has a movie coming out in November, which already did well at Sundance, and she is releasing a new album in September.

She’s got a lot of joy and optimism in her life right now, and we wanted to express that in a fragrance.”

The first promo pic for Mariah’s newest sweet-smelling venture is airbrushed and photoshopped to hell – and the pose looks really awkward – but I’m looking forward to seeing how Forever measures up against the numerous celebrity fragrances released each year.

Perhaps we can even expect one from Omarion, who can’t seem to keep a record deal for longer than 24 hours these days. It’ll probably be called ‘O’. -_-
