Should Bigger Waists Pay Bigger Bucks?

Obesity has obviously become something of conversation in recent years…
But have people taken it too far? In recent news, policy makers along with U.S. citizens have been discussing the importance of living a healthier lifestyle, while encouraging the public to make smarter decisions by choosing better foods and working exercise into their weekly schedules.
But that’s not the problem.
Not only do certain government officials, programs and organizations want overweight people to obtain a better lifestyle, but they want them to pay more because of it. Is this logical or ludacris?
Several things come to mind:
- Should the government have that much control over our lives to the point in which they hold weight as a reason to dictate our lifestyle?
- Does the government really care about your well-being and health or are these just image based arguments created by a society obsessed with the idea of being thin?
- Aren’t these videos below secretly various forms of discrimination?
- Should this be a “moment of clarity” for overweight people?
Check this one out:
Is it or is it not fair to charge overweight people more money due to their size? Think about it. Let us know.

1. No they shouldn’t have this much control, but then again they have control over pretty much everything else, whatever…
2. Government don’t give a damn about my well being or others… It’s an opportunity to make money and getting more control. If they really cared they make businesses give a day or 2 for working out and have a nutrition seminar. And give alternatives foods to eat. Also give incentives for dropping them pounds.
3. The hospital thing is justified.
Them seats in the airplanes are flippin small, I always get into it with someone infront of me for putting their seats into my knees. So I put my knees in their seat lol. I fit comfortably but the flight is annoying. But look at first class seats their bigger. For some reason people people aren’t that small anymore. They need to get better seats and then if it still doesn’t work out then charge more.
4. I do think it is a “let’s pick on fat people session because we’re pissed off about this economy and the illegal immigrant thing is played out.”
5. I don’t think it is. People are going to just bitch about more than to just do it. Plus to be honest the height to weight requirements are a joke. Tell someone that’s almost 300lbs he has to drop to 200 or less and see what happens. They already know they haft to drop the weight. In some cases it’s a crutch. Sometimes it is genetic, but hagendaz and carne asada isn’t. It’s mentality though.
If a person eats a lot and it makes them happy just let them. Why should they pay more for being big? I mean It’s not like they have some type of advantage over regular people, It’s actually hard for them to find clothes that fit them or go to places and be ridiculed. Also some people can’t help eating and a lot of people eat a lot because they are unhappy. The government just wants to control ~MORE~ things than they already do. Real talk.
I don’t know if we should generalize this as the government. We are talking about two private businesses and 1 state.
That said, United is a rip off already charging you on the spot for extra bags not even taking the weight of the two into consideration. They also charge you for food as if the ticket price is not enough and shouldn’t include this. Also the seats are very uncomfortable for tall people too. My knees kill me at the end of a flight. The fact is they need more leg room and bigger seats. Not just the bigger people are crammed on that plane.
Thought the lady in that video gave a great perspective on the situation.
As for what ever state that is charging people for being over weight, that is BS.
im not fat but this is worng.. what happened to equality?? and muscle weighs more than fat
Fat people are regular people. But really what is regular?
There’s actually more businesses that charge fat people more or penalize them in one way or another. Those were just a couple of examples. Granted some are justified like the medical ambulance thing. But there’s others that aren’t. There’s even places that won’t stock bigger size clothes or you get that look/attitude when you ask.
There’s no such thing as equality lol. Sorry it doesn’t exist, never has never will. Never the less this is still wrong. And the ratios need to be readjusted for something other than stick people or for people now o days.
Another part of it, is all the artificial stuff we take in with the foods that stay inside our bodies.
1. Should the government have that much control over our lives to the point in which they hold weight as a reason to dictate our lifestyle?
The government can give advice about having a healthy lifestyle but at the end of the day its up to the person if they want to eat themselves to death or they want to do something about their weight!!!!
2. Does the government really care about your well-being and health or are these just image based arguments created by a society obsessed with the idea of being thin?
I don’t think the government actually care about peoples weight but if they said something about it they would “Make” themselves “look good” but thats not the case!!!!
3. Aren’t these videos below secretly various forms of discrimination?
The first video is discrimination in my own opinion if someone fat is hurt or in trouble the hospital is the only place they can go to seek medical attenttion the ambulance rates should be the same for everyone. the second video isn’t being fair if someone cant fit into one seat they will have to buy two so they are gonna have to pay for two seats. the third video is way out of line it can sometimes take over a year for someone fat to loose alot of weight and to get into shape so that is way out of order!!!!
4. Should this be a “moment of clarity” for overweight people?
No if someone wants to be overweight fine its their fault but if someone wants to change their lives then good for them There is a disease that can make people overweight without it being their fault but its a rare disease!!!!
