Shalone Presents Renaissance Rap: What’s the Verdict?

I like to give new artists a chance, but as a fair and balanced journalist, sometimes the people have to decide.

Check out Shalone from South Jamica, Queens. His sound is described as a hip-hop gumbo and he’s been compared to Flo Rida, TI, Akon and T-Pain.

He has appeared on Petey Pablo’s first album The Diary of A Sinner 1st Entry, as well as done features with Nore, Grafh, Bun B, Busta Rhymes, Joell Ortiz, and Mussolini (Syke) from the Outlaws.

So far, industry tastemakers like Peter Rosenberg, Cipha Sounds and DJ Enuff have sung his praises.

Shalone’s singles like “Ain’t Like We” and “Potential Golddigger” have been getting top 100 radio play along the East Coast, and he recently just released a new video called “Renaissance Rap.” Check it out:
