Savage’s current album, Savage Island

Summer may be finished here in the Northern Hemisphere, but the weather’s just starting to warm up for our southern neighbors.

So for our DrJays.com family residing in Australia, New Zealand and the bottom half of Africa, South America and Asia, what better way to celebrate the heat than by checking out “I Love The Islands”, the reggae-tinged hit by New Zealand’s biggest rap star Savage from his current album Savage Island, featuring Atlanta-based songwriters/artists R. City.

The video pays homage to Savage’s (real name: Demetrius Savelio) island paradise home of Samoa.

The visuals are breathtaking, with images of fale‘s, waterfalls, beaches, fire knife dancers (known as “Siva Afi”) and much more.

Savage is the marquee artist of Dawn Raid Entertainment and is the most successful hip-hop artist from Australia/New Zealand of all time, having sold over two million copies of his debut hit “Swing” “Swing” (featured in Knocked Up) on iTunes.
