Da Brat

If you’ve been hiding under a rock or obsessed about Kevin Jonas getting married, you may or may not have read that Chi-Town MC, Da Brat, is serving a three-year bid at Arrendale Federal Prison in Alto, Georgia.

What you also may not know is that she is organizing a talent show for her fellow inmates. After the jump, we imagine who we’d like to show their skills to the chain gang.

After getting permission to throw the event – labeled Showtime at Alto – Da Brat plans on putting on the event to help her fellow inmates to not only discover their talents, but to cultivate them during their time spent in the bing.

But everyone needs inspiration and inspiration is a hard thing to find while in prison. ‘Pac remarked how he couldn’t write a thing while in jail and most recently T.I. has expressed the same sentiment. So, while Da Brat is promoting positivity, we here at Dr. Jays.com want to inject some talented folks to help keep the positivity flowing.

Remy Ma:

The transfers of these talented talents will be costly, but hey, it’s a daydream, so it’s whatever! Remy would come through and link up with her rapping sister-in-arms, Da Brat, NOT to deliver her scathing verse from M.O.P.‘s “Ante Up” (Remix), but to show off her singing talents by doing a soul-stirring version of “God’s Tryna Tell You Something.”

Prodigy:

Prodigy should just do this song on the strength of how it’d make the inmates feel. Currently serving some time of his own, P would hit Alto like a black Johnny Cash and would cement his street legacy.

Shyne:

Everyone cannot wait for Shyne to get out of jail. When he does, one of the first things he should do is continue to be a stand-up guy for those locked-down under by making his first appearance as a free man at Da Brat’s talent show. He should it not for the press, not for the stans and definitely not for the fair weather fans. Shyne Po would be “gangsta” in showing love to the inmates. Now, if only he’ll let us know who he’s going to sign to once he gets out.

While Da Brat is serving time for assaulting a cheerleader, her efforts at pushing positivity are appreciated. Who would you put in her talent show to help inspire the inmates? Share your thoughts below!
