The Movie “Surrogates” – Yay or Nay?
I’ve always liked Bruce Willis, and secretly I still have a crush on him. He’s one of the best actors out there but you’ve rarely seen him in any science fiction films since The 5th Element (which by the way is my favorite film. Period.)
Nevertheless Surrogates is about life on Earth where we send out our robotic doppelgangers to live our life in a world that’s free of crime and pain. The only part we serve is as their master unit, with our minds connected controlling it’s movement and seeing everything it sees. What’s even better is that the movie is based on a graphic novel much like V for Vendetta, Sin City and more.
Like most adaptations, the movie doesn’t exactly follow the graphic novel which may or may not work against it (I heard the setting is different, some other minimal things). Movies like the Wathchmen followed the story of the graphic novel so closely that it ruined it. Frankly, the graphic novel was boring and the movie was just as boring. I read the novel way before the movie came out and I didn’t think it was that great then.
Back to the subject at hand. I’m somewhat excited about seeing this but it makes me want to read the graphic novel series first. Has anyone here read the books? Do you think that once you make an adaptation it’s automatically going downward? The trailer is available on most trailer sites i you haven’t seen it yet.
I’ve been looking for more screenshots but outside of the trailer the movie has been kept on the hush.

ehh i dunno..i hope it will be good..we’ll see..

Haha i have to say, i saw the movie and it was def. not the greatest movie for Bruce Willis. It was rather comical i might add with many hysterical one liners which I’m sure that the movie was intended to be on a serious note. Plus when they reveal Ving Rhames as the “prophet” caught myself and the audience’s attention which followed with heavy laugher.
But on a lighter note Fifth Element was an awesome and addicting movie. He should stick to doing movies like Unbreakable and Die Hard.
