Chris Rock talks Good Hair with Oprah

Comedian Chris Rock appeared on Oprah yesterday to talk about his latest project, a documentary entitled Good Hair. Previously a taboo topic, Rock explores the impact of hair in the Black community from a funny yet poignant angle. Traveling everywhere from New York beauty salons to Indian temples, the film sheds light on a multi-billion dollar industry and provides insight from a myriad of inside sources.Rock says he was inspired to make the film after he was approached by his daughter asking “Daddy, how come I don’t have good hair?” Surely this is an issue that many Black families have to deal with at one point or another, but few are willing to go to such great lengths to find an answer.

Winner of a Sundance Film Festival award, Good Hair premieres in select cities October 9th and nationally on October 23rd. Will you be buying a ticket?
