If Tyson & Holyfield Can Call Peace, Who Else Can?!

It was a love fest on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Friday as former foes, Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield, buried the hatchet on the award winning show.

Tyson got a lot of love from his first appearance on O’s show, which got me to thinking, if he can call peace for munching on the flesh of another man – who can call a truce for lesser evils? Find out after the jump.

Tyson may have called Holyfield “a beautiful guy,” but these former warriors spent years with that uneasy tension ever since their 1997 bout ended with a chunk of Holyfield’s ear in Tyson’s teeth.

Both Tyson and Holyfield hoped that their Oprah appearance would serve as an example of how bitter rivals can find a common ground. And if Oprah’s half the mover and shaker that she’s shown to been this season – she’ll be the go-to-mediator for these arch-rivals:

T.I. & Alfamega:

Yes, I know that “snitchin’” ain’t hot in the streets, but who the hell cares when you’re making money and doing songs with Justin Timberlake (T.I.). The days of enforcing your street cred with acts of violence are done.

We’re officially hipped to rap’s WWE-nature. This doesn’t mean that Clifford has to re-sign Mega or even do a song with the guy, but that “blacklisted” shiite is real and no matter what – no man has a right to stop another to be able to put food on his own plate.

These two could sit down, agree to disagree and go their own separate ways. In the end, it’d do well to show maturity within hip-hop.

Amy Fisher & Mary Jo Buttafuoco:

Okay, okay, okay… shooting someone in the head may make it hard to forgive and forget, but they’ve already tried to mend the fences before.

In 2006, the dynamic duo was on Entertainment Tonight, with Amy looking to put her past as the “Long Island Lolita” in the rear-view mirror and Mary Jo hoping to do the same. But two years later that wasn’t to be the case.

Oprah’s sensitivity and wit could help these two find some closure. If that doesn’t work, there’s always Big Brother…

Jesse Jackson & Barack Obama:

“I wanna cut his nuts off,” is what former presidential candidate Jesse Jackson uttered on FOX News no less, much to the dismay to black folks everywhere. Pretty bold statement if you ask me…

While Tyson may have bitten off more than he could chew, literally, Jackson angered the past and present with his antics.

Now, Oprah is super chummy with Obama and although I’ve never seen her at Rainbow Coalition meeting, she can be impartial and unbiased while mediating this situation.

Even though I’m 100% sure Obama’s not sweating Jesse, it would just be best to show some Black People Solidarity – especially since Fox has went all Republican on us and are trying to defame our president.

Who else do you think should wave the white flag and let peace reign in their life? Speak on it in the comments section below and enjoy this tidbit from the Oprah Winfrey show!
