Rising Talent: Meet Ne-Yo’s Protegé Bei Maejor
Bei Maejor
While in Atlanta for BET Hip Hop Awards weekend, Boss Lady caught up with Bei Maejor, an aspiring artist who’s already scored hits as a songwriter/producer based in Ne-Yo’s Compound Studios.
The 23-year-old, who moved to Atlanta from Detroit, has worked with a crazy roster of artists including Trey Songz (”UR Behind”, “Long Gone Missin’”), Bun B (”Hold U Down”), Plies (”Water”), T-Pain, Ginuwine, Mary J. Blige, Ghostface (”Paragraphs of Love”) and more.
When asked what he’s learned from his mentor Ne-Yo, Bei explains: “The best lesson I learned from Ne-Yo is his humility and his ability to deal with people. He’s one of the biggest stars in the world, but he still treats people really, really good.”
