The New York Yankees are headed back to the MLB World Series!

They will be prepared to take on the Phillies on Wednesday, October 28. After taking a 3-2 lead in the series and heading back to the Bronx, the Yankees decided it was time to end the mini drought and close the series against the Los Angeles Angels in front of a packed Yankee Stadium.

But there are some other great things happening in Game 1…

Jay-Z aka “Mr. I Can Make A Yankee Hat More Famous Than A Yankee Can” and Alicia Keys will be performing “Empire State Of Mind” live to kick off the start of the series. Just add that to the other great achievements that the two have accomplished during their career.

Says Jay-Z to the NY Post: “Really it’s about inspiration, it’s about hope — I think that’s what connects with people. The song connects outside of New York. Every night I play it, there’s a monster response, no matter if we’re in Providence or whenever.”

Well hopefully the Yankees can rely on their bats to provide New York with a championship banner. Our starting pitchers have been consistent, Alex Rodriguez has awoken in October, and Joe Girardi, as well as all New York fans, want a parade.

I have Yankees winning in 6. What do you think about the Yankees thus far? What are your thoughts of Jay-Z & Alicia opening the world series? Here’s the song if you have not heard it yet, off of Blueprint 3, in stores now:
