Do Women Really Want A Good Man?

Michelle supports her man. Ladies, do you?

People magazine recently got some face time with the First Lady and she had some interesting things to say on the state of relationships today.

While I advocate love and all that good stuff over at my own place – does today’s generation really want that endless love that Diana Ross and Lionel Ritchie sang about? Or is it all about the nookie? Find out after the jump.

In this digital age, you can find love at the click of a button it seems.  Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites allow friends, foes and freaks access into your personal life, easily making it troublesome for someone to throw a monkey wrench into your love affair.

But it does seem like folks are trying to survive amidst the issues created by today’s technology. Leona Lewis scoffed at the media, who made snide remarks about her relationship with an electrician.

An electrician. If there’s anything I know about women it’s that they love a man that’s good with their hands. Yet our celebrity-crazed society thinks that the budding singing superstar should go for a higher caliber type of gentleman. What does Mrs. Obama have to say about all of this?

“Cute’s good. But cute only lasts for so long, and then it’s, ‘Who are you as a person?’ ” Obama, 45, says in the December issue of Glamour, out Nov. 10. “Don’t look at the bankbook or the title. Look at the heart. Look at the soul. When you’re dating a man, you should always feel good. You shouldn’t be in a relationship with somebody who doesn’t make you completely happy and make you feel whole.”

But ladies, do you want that type of person? In the midst of the Trey Songz, Idris Elba’s and whatnot – there’s plenty of man candy (pause for those who do that stuff) for the ladies. We’ve seen marriages dissolve, while new ones like Nick Carey and Mariah Cannon and The Omardashians confuse folks with their fast food wedding ways.

In the end, while a woman’s taste may vary, what is your end goal? Is it attainable in today’s fast paced dating culture? Speak on it in the comments section.
