Castles Of Dreams Made Of Sand…

Are the streets being blackballed in hip-hop?
DMX recently had some things to say about the music industry and SoundsLikeFire.com was listening to every word of it. After the jump, peep what the Yonkers rapper had to say.In the interview, X gave his opinion on why artists aren’t pulling in those Jay-Z/Kanye numbers:
“The highest paid artist gets like 26 cents off a dollar. And they sell your shit for $20. I can’t use my own music without getting your permission,” said DMX in the interview.
All you aspiring artists, take heed now, if you haven’t been paying attention the last four years. Peep the next quote:
“I wrote it. Paid a ni**a for the beat. I paid you for loaning me the money,” X added. “I paid you back your money, now we splitting because you owed me the money but you own my shit. I don’t owe you a motherf***ing thing. Why is you holding on to my shit? And that’s standard. Get the fu*k outta here man.”
That’s the standard. Unless you have some clout, a T.I. (not the rapper) cosign, or an amazing project that makes all of your ducks fall in a row – you’re getting raped for your publishing. Yet folks still want to be rappers?! Why? I mean besides the obvious (gwap, girls and green) — what is it getting you? Not to be the hater in the room, but you see how the rest of the giants in the industry are kicking over folks sandcastle dreams?
Obama’s right… you may not be the next Lil Wayne, but can folks ever be complacent enough to be just a regular person? Honestly, not in America, but that’s besides the point.
The point is while the game is in this continuing downward spiral, and the big dogs are the only one eating in the eyes of the public, can your dreams still get you success? Or do you need a really dope co-sign to fool the public?
Speak on it in the comments section below!

This is real intelligent what DMX is saying just very serious and make you think about the whole world of today and how are we as people are thinking and what do we really want to do with our lives.
I like the part about being a regular person. In the end we cant all be stars. You have to get in where you fit in but dont stop yo hussle
