Gucci Mane Sentenced to A Year In Jail
Gucci Mane was sentenced to a year in prison today after violating his probation. According to a local Atlanta station, a judge just sentenced the rapper to one year after he did not complete the terms of his probation. Gucci Mane was arrested in 2005 for assault, plead no contest and was sentenced to 6 months in jail, 6.5 years of probation plus 600 hours of community service.
According to records, in the three years since the original sentence was handed down, Gucci Mane has only racked up 25 hours of community service out of the 600 he was sentenced to. Due to this, and testing positive for ecstasy, marijuana and alcohol, Gucci Mane will serve a year in prison.

Well I got to see what the mania was all about when I was down in Atlanta….Gucci has very limited free time, but in between shooting multiple videos, eating lunch at the scripclub (lol), dropping 3 mixtapes at once, and holding court with his rabid fans, Gucci took me to the very housing complex where he grew up and admittedly screwed up in Zone 6/East Atlanta….to chat about many things (his history with T.I., being blacklisted in ATL, his childhood,etc). But in this clip, we talked about the song that surprised me the most.

lol. cops 5, rappers 0. good lord. wayne, T.I., gucci, c-murder, mystikal, chi ali, prodigy, turk, boosie like you reported the other day…and probably more that i can’t think of off the top. it’s getting wild. if this isn’t a big enough indication that rappers shouldn’t be role models, i don’t know what is.

should we have sympathy for the man? nah, man. he skated around an attempted murder charge, if that was me, i would have left rap and been in the himilayas studying an eastern religion. god gave the man a blessing and he took it for granted. regardless, you can see he’s sincere in his interview and that song, and it’s just a pretty sad situation.
